Rock Carvings Trip - $85.00

Half day - Suitable for everyone

Kayaking to the Rock Carvings is about 3 hours of paddling there and back. We launch the kayaks after a full briefing at Jerusalem Bay. Paddling with the coast on our right we pass 4 headlands, the last of which leaves us with 400m to go before sighting the 10m high carvings. After photos and a tale or two about the carvings and their meanings we go to a nearby rock ledge for snacks and cold or hot drink. If you wish this is the time for swim in the crystal clear water of the lake. For the return trip we keep the coast on our left passing steep cliffs and mini inlets that can only harbour a kayak.

Multiple Day trips - $Price on Request

2+ days - Suitable for Everyone

We can organise and guide your multiple day kayaking trips. Ask us about the possibilities.

One example is a 3 day paddle to the Western Bays of Lake Taupo. Camp beside the beach, fish for your trout supper then next day, paddle under the magnificent Karangahape cliffs. 500 Feet of near vertical rock plunging into the water right beside you while you sit in your kayak.

Another example could be a 3 day journey on the mighty Wanganui River in roomy, easily steered, and stable sea kayaks. The river is world famous for its rapids, and even though they are relatively easy by white water kayaking standards, i.e. grade 2, they can still be quite testing. On most of the trip you will see nothing but native flora and fauna.
